The Virdi AC-2100 carries an IPX3 water resistance rating — which means it is protected against dripping water and light splashing only. It is suitable for indoor installations and sheltered locations where it will not be directly exposed to rain, water jets, or submersion.

Virdi’s patented Live and Fake Fingerprint Detection rejects artificial fingers made from gelatin, rubber, silicone, paper, and film. Up to 2 templates per finger, 10 fingers per user. Optimized algorithm handles difficult fingerprints including dry or aged skin.
RFID Card: EM 125kHz proximity cards and 13.56MHz smart cards — both in one built-in reader. Note: HID Prox and HID iCLASS are not supported on this model.

What is the difference between the Virdi AC-2100 and AC-2100 Plus?
The AC-2100 has IPX3 splash-resistant housing — suitable for indoor and sheltered installations only. The AC-2100 Plus upgrades to full IP65 weatherproofing (dustproof and waterproof) and adds PoE support for single-cable installation — making it suitable for outdoor and exposed locations. Both have identical fingerprint performance, OSDP RS-485, and 100,000 event log capacity. If your installation is outdoor or exposed, the AC-2100 Plus is the correct choice.
What does IPX3 mean on the AC-2100?
IPX3 means the terminal is protected against dripping water and light splashing from angles up to 60 degrees. It is suitable for indoor use and sheltered locations where the terminal will not be directly exposed to rain, water jets, or dust. For fully outdoor or exposed installations, choose the Virdi AC-2100 Plus (IP65) or AC-2200 (IP65).
Does the AC-2100 support HID cards?
No. The AC-2100 supports EM 125kHz proximity cards and 13.56MHz smart cards only. HID Prox and HID iCLASS are not supported. If HID card support is required, contact IOT Systems for an alternative recommendation.
What is OSDP and why is it better than Wiegand?
